Who is already on board the DentalXpress social enterprise

 

Toby Cobb - CEO and Founder of DentalXpress

Competed in professional sport to the highest level, gaining his first international cap as a school boy. From this highly competitive environment he has learnt that success is only through hard work, becoming an expert in your field and being driven. He brings this competitive edge to everything he does in life. His passion for sport lead him into a career in leisure management, by the end of his career in leisure he was a multi-site manager with overall control for the running of 3 centres and management of over 300 staff. In 2003 he switched career paths and moved into financial services, ending up working for The Children’s Mutual as a broker consultant advising a panel of 3,000 financial advisers on financial planning for children. He is now investing his time and energy in getting this business off the ground.

 

Dr Stephen J Norman - General Dentist

Dr Stephen J Norman’s commitment to provide only quality dental care has been facilitated by the several postgraduate courses he has taken in Endodontics, Cosmetic & Smile Design techniques.  Dr Norman’s endodontic treatment has been carried out using a dental microscope, with several Smile Design cases successfully completed. He has also carried out composite restorative treatment to high standard.  Dr Norman has also been instrumental in starting up a new all-digital practice.

  

Dr Vishnu Moodaley - General Dentist

Dr Moodaley has a history of successfully starting up practices and - more importantly here -  has a good strategic understanding of the business of dentistry, from processes to materials. While keeping abreast of the latest thinking in industry, Dr Moodaley maintains his in-depth knowledge and experience in performing cosmetic dentistry- from occlusion therapy, aesthetic restorative work to tooth whitening. Dr Moodaley has worked in the National Health Service as well as privately.  Whilst his clinical experience has personally been tailored to private dentistry, Dr Moodaley has always been fully competent in NHS dentistry and still maintains an active provider number.

 

Dr Amarjit Gill - Non Executive Director

Dr Amarjit Gill was voted Third Most Influential Person in UK Dentistry in March 2009. He has been the BDA Executive Board Director since 2000 and is also an experienced media spokesman, both locally and nationally. He has developed and lectured about dental on non dental enterprises and so brings a unique blend on professional and commercial skills to the Board.

Our Project:

The aim is to set up a DentalXpress service in each PCT area it serves for 4-6 weeks and return to each of these areas on a 4-6 weekly basis.  

 

Dentists:

DentalXpress will be recruiting dentists locally to serve a particular community, which will help them build relationships with the patients they treat and local practices to which they will need to refer. 

 

There are a number of reasons why dentists may be attracted to working with DentalXpress as many are experiencing difficulties getting funding to establish their own practices; whilst others are finding it hard winning a PDS contract from a PCT.  Others may be motivated by the desire to be self employed rather than working for a dental corporate or as an Associate.                                                         

 

The dentists undertaking sessions for DentalXpress will be encouraged to join local Managed Clinical Networks, to liaise with other dental providers in the area to whom they may want to refer, as well as Chambers of Commerce, Faith Groups, Rotary and so on, to establish good local relations. 

 

Other dental professionals:

Dental nurses will be employed by the company and will work with the same dentist in pairings to encourage team building. There will also be a receptionist linked to each unit.
